David Luckes MBE

Position: Head of Summer Sports and International Federation Relations, International Olympic Committee

David Luckes (MBE) is the Head of Summer Sports and International Federation Relations at the IOC Sports Department. His main responsibilities include overseeing the sports operations of the Olympic Games and the Summer Youth Olympic Games, as well as to expand the chain of dialogue with the IFs and Olympic Games Organising Committees (OCOGs) moving forward.

David started working at the IOC in January 2018 having spent the previous 5 years as the Director of Sport and Development at the International Hockey Federation (FIH), following on from 7 years as the Head of Sport Competition at LOCOG.

David, a former field hockey goalkeeper, participated in three Summer Olympic Games for Great Britain: at Barcelona 1992, Atlanta 1996 and Sydney 2000. He was also a part of the English team that won a bronze medal at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur.
