About Host City

The place where tomorrow’s events begin.

Host City brings together the people and organisations that plan, bid for, host, finance and deliver the world’s major sports, business and cultural events.

We create a dynamic environment where the business of events gets done: where new opportunities and partnerships emerge, meaningful connections are made, and insight and expertise are shared to help turn ambitious ideas into successful events.

Marketplace. Gathering. Intelligence.

Host City is built around three things that matter to the major events community.

The marketplace
A place to identify new opportunities, initiate partnerships and strengthen your position within the international events market.

The gathering
A trusted meeting place for hosts, rightsholders, organising committees, partners and suppliers, creating relationships and connections that extend well beyond the event itself.

The intelligence
A forum for insight, expertise and new perspectives that inform decisions, challenge established thinking and improve how major events are planned and delivered.

More than 20 years connecting the major events community

Host City began as a magazine in 2003 and has since grown into an international media and events platform serving the global major events ecosystem.

The first Host City conference took place in London in 2014, bringing the rightsholders of the Olympic Games, FIFA World Cup, Commonwealth Games and World Expos onto the same stage.

Today, Host City brings together leaders from across the international events sector to exchange ideas, build partnerships and explore the commercial, operational and societal challenges and opportunities facing major events.

Experience Host City 2026

The 13th Host City Conference & Exhibition takes place in Glasgow on 1–2 December 2026, bringing together around 300 representatives from cities and destinations, rightsholders, organising committees, event owners, partners and suppliers.

Across two days of keynote conversations, panel discussions, workshops, meetings and networking, Host City provides the environment for new ideas, relationships and opportunities to develop.
