Russell Samuel

Position: Vice President, Creative and Integrated Marketing; Viacom Velocity International

Russell is responsible for the creative output of Viacom Velocity International’s commercial team, whose work involves pairing clients’ brand stories with Viacom's renowned media brands, franchises and events including the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards and the MTV EMAs.

Russell is credited with conceiving, developing and delivering Isle of MTV Malta, Europe’s biggest free annual summer music festival with headliners including Lady Gaga, Snoop and Rita Ora. Tourism to Malta has greatly increased as a result, and Malta Tourism Authority has now extended its partnership with Velocity through the new Nickelodeon Treasure Hunt for the family market.

Russell has also secured and worked on several partnerships across many international markets and brands including Calvin Klein, VW, Sony Pictures, Microsoft and social media app TikTok, who sponsored the Red Carpet at the 2018 MTV EMAs in Bilbao.

After a decade in the MTV Networks Europe Marketing team, Russell moved to leading creative agency TBWA in 2008 before returning to Viacom in 2010.
