Position: Brand and Marketing Director at World Athletics
Maria has been developing brands for over 25 years, working on some of the world’s most recognizable global brands including the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Skype, Microsoft and HSBC. After heading up the brand and creative department of the World Athletics Championships, London 2017, she joined the IAAF in 2018 to lead the development and rollout of the rebrand to World Athletics. As well as managing the new brand, she has responsibility for marketing the sport of athletics, Fan Engagement and Research.
Maria is also the Chair of British Artistic Swimming, leading the strategic vision to develop the sport from grass roots to Olympic performance and an elected member of the European Swimming Federation for Artistic Swimming. With previous experience as International Technical Official she has a unique and in-depth understanding of the power of Olympic sport and brands coming together.
