Manuel Nogueira

Position: Managing Director, AndArchitects

Manuel studied at UCL (The Bartlett). After graduating, he was employed by RT James & Partners, Consulting Engineers. Here he was the sole in-house architectural consultant for a wide variety of projects, the majority being sports and stadia related. 

Manuel Nogueira established AndArchitects in 1998 following the commission for the development of The Valley ground for Charlton Athletic FC.

Following the success working on six buildings for the London 2012 Olympics, he worked on the Handball Arena for Rio 2016, which will become four separate schools. The Handball Arena has won the International Olympic Committee Silver Medal 2017 and the Olympic Paralympic Committee Distinction.

Manuel was also Chair of the RIBA Small Practice Group for two years and now sits on the RIBA Small Practice and International Committee. AndArchitects were finalists in the International Breakthrough Architect of the Year Awards 2013 won an Architectural Review’s Future Project Award 2017 for the Sports and Leisure sector.
